2024-25 FIS Freestyle World Cup Season Kicks Off This Weekend with Big Air Chur, Switzerland

This coming weekend, October 18-19, sees the start of the 2024-25 FIS Freestyle World Cup season with the Big Air in Chur, Switzerland. The Chur Big Air weekend is a staple on the Freestyle calendar of the International Ski & Snowboard Federation (FIS). Each year, the best Freestyle snowboarders and skiers in the world battle it out on the Big Air ramp at the Obere Au in Chur, the biggest Freestyle ramp in Switzerland.

The Chur Big Air Festival will be host to both freeski and snowboard events, with the FIS Freeski World Cup held on Friday, October 18, and the FIS Snowboard World Cup held on Saturday, October 19. On both days competitions will go through a series of qualifiers in the afternoon, from which the top 8 in each group will move to the night final at 7:45 p.m. CET, which makes for perfect watching for viewers in North America. The Big Air Festival in Chur is a huge event with live musicย and entertainment.The event usually attracts big crowds. This yearโ€™s festival is headlined on Friday by Bonez MC and on Satuday by Paul Kalkbrenner.

Big Air falls under the FIS Freestyle events. The other Freestyle disciplines are Ski/Boarder-Cross,ย Moguls (Duals and Singles),ย Slopestyle (Ski & Snowboard),ย Half-pipe (Ski & Snowboard), as well asย Aerials.
