A Foot of snow (30cms) was reported to have fallen at the 9,000 ft Northern Italian mountain pass called Passo Stelvio on September 11, 2017.

Passo dello Stelvio, Italy = 59 inches (150cm) Snow depth
Saas Fee, Switzerland = 24 inches (60cm) Snow depth
Molltall Glacier, Austria = 20 inches (50cm) Snow depth
Hintertux, Glacier, Austria = 18 inches (45cm) Snow depth
Solden, Austria = 10 inches (25cm) Snow depth
Val Senales, Italy = 6 inches (15cm) Snow depth
The Austrian Tirol has two ski resorts that will be opening tomorrow. Making it a total of 10 ski resorts open in Europe in early September.
The Pitztal Glacier (Pitztaler Gletscher), Austria will open for the 2017/18 this Saturday September 16, 2017.
The Stubai Glacier (Stubaier Gletscher), Austria will also open Saturday, September 16.
There was snow at Hintertux Glacier, Austria on September 11 and 12, about 2 inches (5cms) with over 18 inches (45cm) of snow pack overall.
Austria’s Molltal Glacier reported about 8 inches (20 cms) of snowfall overnight on September 12
Solden, Austria opened on September 15, 2017.
Val Senales, Italy reported 6 inches (15 cms) of new snow that fell on Monday September 10, 2017.
Interesting. Makes one curious about the global warming. Mammoth open until August 6th and Europe with 10 resorts mid September. What was it like when it was colder?
What about Zermatt? Isn’t the glacier open all year round?
