Skiing on 4th of July Weekend. It’s legendary. Sure you can hike up and ski a patch or do something extreme to get your 4th of July turns. But, being able to ski all day at a ski resort on the 4th of July is what America is really all about, isn’t it? Yes, it is.
On good years, there can be a plethora of ski resorts open.
In 2011, all these resorts were open for 4th of July:
Squaw Valley, CA
Mammoth, CA
Alpine Meadows, CA
Kirkwood, CA
Sugar Bowl, CA
Snowbird, UT
Timberline Lodge, OR
Whistler, BC
This year, there will only be 3 ski resorts open. But, considering what a rough year it was, we’ll take it!
