Jackson Hole ski resort has already gotten 171″ of snow this season and they’re sitting on a 54″ base. Not bad. They’re now expecting a foot plus of new snow in the next two days and NOAA has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the Jackson area. Even better.

.A STRONG UPPER LEVEL STORM SYSTEM WILL MOVE INTO THE NORTHERN
ROCKIES AND SPREAD SNOW INTO WESTERN WYOMING. THIS WILL BE THE
BEGINNING OF WHAT MAY BECOME AN EXTENDED EVENT FOR THE TETON
AREA.

MORNING TO 5 AM MST FRIDAY...
* TIMING...SNOW WILL SPREAD INTO THE AREA AND BECOME STEADIER AND
HEAVIER INTO THE AFTERNOON BEFORE TAPERING OFF OVERNIGHT AND
INTO FRIDAY MORNING.
* TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...6 TO 12 INCHES IN THE MOUNTAINS WITH
LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS ON WEST FACING SLOPES. 3 TO 6 INCHES IN
THE VALLEYS.
* WINDS/VISIBILITIES...SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WINDS OF 10 TO 15 MPH
WITH GUSTS TO 25 MPH FOR MOST SPOTS. HIGHER GUSTS TO 45 MPH WILL
BE POSSIBLE ACROSS THE HIGHER ELEVATIONS. VISIBILITIES COULD BE
RESTRICTED TO UNDER ONE HALF MILE AT TIMES.
* IMPACTS...SNOW AND SLICK CONDITIONS WILL IMPACT MOST ROADS AND
HIGHWAYS IN WESTERN WYOMING THROUGH FRIDAY MORNING. PEOPLE
VENTURING INTO THE MOUNTAINS TO RECREATE WILL WANT TO TAKE THE
APPROPRIATE PRECAUTIONS TO PREPARE FOR WINTER WEATHER
CONDITIONS.
